Today I have been given another chance to realize that simplicity is the key to success. So, I have set my desk up – yes, again and again – yet this time it's only a mouse and a laptop on the super cheap foldable desk from Amazon (never mind the phone stand). And I love it! Why?
Here's why. On one of the pictures you can see a curved monitor, Mac, Alexa, camera and some other fancy gadgets. First of all, I do not recommend anyone getting expensive setup, as this is NOT what success looks like.
On the other picture, it's what I have discovered today.
The real story is that the table was for dining purposes, however, I wanted to try something new today. I put my Mac, heat trivet (need to lessen the amount of coffee I drink) and a mouse on that table – who-a-lah – a new productivity setup. All you actually need for being productive, is your passion and dedication to what you do.
Fancy setup? Nah, it will just awe your guests and maybe you will look cool on internet. Although I never had a chance to take my previous setup on the internet, here you can see it discredited.
Don't put your money into curved, straight, wide or augmented monitors, unless it's really really what you need it for.
I have tried working on my super simple desk today, and got a double boost in productivity!
Be simple and stay humble.
